Inspection & Registration
  1. Cars will be inspected during race day registration for compliance with the specifications in the Historic District Rules. 
  2. Technical inspection and registration or "check-in" of cars begins at 1:30 PM and ends PROMPTLY at 2 PM on the day of the race.  Registration will not be possible after 2 PM.
  3. Each car must pass inspection by the official inspection committee and be registered by the Final Inspection Deadline at 2 PM. 
  4. If, at registration, a car does not pass inspection, the owner will be informed of the reason for the car did no pass (too long, too heavy, altered wheel base, or the like) and will be given time within the official check-in time period to make adjustments. 
  5. Cars that fail to meet specifications will not be permitted to race. 
  6. After final approval, cars will not be re-inspected unless a car is damaged in handling or in a race. 
  7. All cars must have been made during the current year in which the Pinewood Derby is held.
  8. Cars with wet paint will not be accepted.
  9. Cars may not be altered in any way after it has been registered. Damage repair shall be allowed during the Derby only if it does not delay the race, but no modifications shall be allowed.
  10. After passing inspection, no car shall be re-inspected unless repaired after damage in handling or in a race.
  11. Cars will be assigned numbers at the time of registration using a non-permanent sticker. 
  12. Ungentlemanly or unsportsmanlike conduct by any participant or spectator will be grounds for expulsion from the competition and/or the race area.
