Here are a few tips for making a great rocket:
  • The groove through the middle where the rubber band goes should be sealed with urethane or wax and sanded with fine grit sandpaper to make it as smooth as possible, prior to gluing the two halves together.
  • The small red plastic tube needs to be installed over the wire to the propeller so as not to cut the rubber bands.
  • A veggie peeler works well for shaping the body of the rocket.
  • A streamlined, balanced and LIGHT rocket will go faster and farther.
  • Using 2 rubber bands usually works best.
  • Be careful to put the propeller on correctly (NOT BACKWARDS).
  • Glue the hanger in place (seriously....glue that thing), and do not paint the hanger (especially the top cylinder part).
